LOCAL NON-PROFIT RAISING MONEY FOR THE ARTS

Budget crisis in California Schools has parents and community getting together and getting creative to fund important programs in local schools.

Newly formed non-profit organization Project Oasis and
Los Cerritos Elementary School are hosting a shindig for the community.  The show will be held in the Los Cerritos Auditorium at 515 W. San Antonio Drive on Friday March 21st at 5:30pm and 7:00pm.  Los Cerritos Dad, Poly High teacher and mandolin player Dave Burns, has volunteered his Celtic band The Sligo Rags to perform as a fundraising effort for the school.

The ‘Rags have been voted best folk band in Orange County, the Celtic Beat Magazine, Music Connection, and OC Live!, all sing their praises.  You may have seen them at Four Olives, or the Auld Dubliner.  They have even played at John Anson Ford Theater!

Tickets will go on sale March 1st.  To buy tickets online, visit http://LosCerritosElementary.com, to have an order form mailed or faxed to you, email LosCerritos@mac.com or stop by the school and pick one up.  Tickets will also be sold on Friday March 7th and 14th from 8:00am-9:00am in the morning.  Seating is limited to the first 250 people per show.  If you cannot attend the show, but would like to donate to the school, please visit LosCerritosElementary.com, there will be giving opportunities on the site or send an email to LosCerritos@mac.com
